Thoughts On The New Pill

Zohydro is the latest in pain prescription medicine to introduce itself to us. It may in fact help us, but does it do more harm than good? Many people argue that the world already has too many hydrocodone based drugs. A woman from Kentucky argued, "Too many people have already become addicted to similar opioid medications, and too many lives have been lost." If this is true and we are headed into the same direction, America should take action to stop this from entering our pharmacies.

I believe the author uses many resources to back up her statements. She used many quote from supporters of this side to prove her argument. "You're talking about a drug that's somewhere in the neighborhood of five times more potent than what we're dealing with now," said Dr. Stephen Anderson, a well known doctor from Washington. With this being said, how long will it take before we see people loosing their lives to this drug as well. These types of drugs are physically addictive and could kill someone if it got into their system enough. I believe this should not be aloud to enter our pharmacies. There are man other pain relievers available for people who need it and this should be a more stressed issue.

  1. I agree 50% that this drug should not be entered because there is some issues. The thing is that what if someone really needed the drug? What if it was between life and death? I agree that it could be addictive but they shouldn't punish all the people. If people are stupid enough to take this medicine so many times that they get addicted then that's their fault. I know that sometimes it is hard not to be addictive to somethings. It's hard in this situation to decide what is the right answer. There's positives about the drug but yet there are negatives about the drug too. You did a great job explaining the drug. I think the only thing I would have liked would be for you to go a little in depth about the drug and your opinion.
