A search aircraft set out to find flight 370, or what remains of it. When they searched the waters near Australia, they found a couple large orange pieces that they believed to have come from the plane. When they fished it out of the water, it proved to be false hope for all of the families of people on flight 370. Karimi states that "the batteries are designed to last 30 days; the plane has been missing 23 days." This means that if the plane is not found soon, a lot more damage can come than what is already expected. The author believes that all this false finding has done is create hope for the families of the people on flight 370. This hope was soon destroyed when they found it was just another floating piece fishing equipment in the ocean. This impacts the article because she seems almost hopeless to finding the aircraft.
